NEXPATCH COLLECTOR

Norden’s Nexpatch Collector can be used for the bi-directional communications between Nexpatch Cards and the rest of the system.Real-time data can be provided to the system by sending commands to Nexpatch cards from Collector and then collecting data from the Nexpatch Cards. The collector communicates through an unmanaged L2 switch. It is saved on ports in the main switch and thus enables the cascading of collectors to provide unlimited network growth. It is possible to track and document all move and adds changes to the network from a centralized location. It optimizes asset utilization and can maintain accurate documentation. Single Collector supports up to 24 Cards, with each card supporting 24 ports (24 x 24 = 576 ports supported). The Collector is powered through the mains supply via a power socket on the rear panel and supplies power to the Nexpatch Cards over an RJ-45 shielded cord. By using it along with the Nexpatch DCIM Platform, it reduces the downtime and time-consuming manual cable management.

FEATURES

  • Supports up to 24 Nexpatch Cards (for a maximum of 576 ports supported)
  • For system-wide identification a unique ID code is used.
  • Supports switch savings through the support of up to 4 ports.
  • Data are collected from Nexpatch Cards and routed to agents upon request over TCP/IP network, private or public, for advanced security
  • Supports a daisy-chain configuration using TCP/IP ports, enabling unlimited network growth.
  • Collector can communicate with both copper and fibre intelligent panels through cards. It provides power to intelligent patch panels and records connectivity information.
  • The collector communicates with collectors by cascading via UTP cable and effectively one collector can be connected to LAN and communicate to AIM software via Ethernet.
  • The collector is a zero U device & when combined it support multiples of 576 ports without additional rack space.
  • Multiple collectors can be cascaded with each other. An unlimited number of ports can be managed in a single patch zone.
  • The collector is Low power consumption (11W), and a Low heat dissipation device.
  • The 24 cards which can be connected to a single collector provide flexibility in connecting panels via UTP cable and the combined length of chords supports 4000 feet, enabling to the management of multiple panels in a patching room.
  • An On-the-GO (OTG) mini-AB USB socket is included, enabling connection to an external device such as a tablet PC for work orders and switch learning.
  • Host type A USB socket is included, enabling connection to a USB device such as a flash drive.
  • The Tablet, which can be connected to Collector is a portable device that displays electronic work orders and guides the technician with visual information. The buzzer in panels provides sounds for connection and disconnection.
  • The tablet provides visual information to identify the work order and is also used to learn ID keys.
  • The collector monitors all patch panel connections and disconnections and such actions are reported in seconds to the software
  • Patch panels are provided with a button. Each port has an LED on top that will sense the patch cord movement.
  • Supports space saving installation, either as zero-U or 1U rack installation
  • Nexpatch cards and Collector can be added to the network at a later stage and it allows the intelligent ready patch panel to work seamlessly without downtime.
